Associate Professor Dr Omonigho Benedict Otanocha, is a registered engineer, with a Ph. D (Mechanical Engineering), from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is a Corporate Member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), with over 19 years of cognate technical experiences in the industry, such as DUNLOP Group of Companies, PAMOL (Nig) Ltd, and 11 years of teaching and competency training practice.
He has skills and interests in Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Laser Based Manufacturing), Sustainable Production Systems, CAD/CAM, Re-manufacture, Mechanical Design/Modelling, Artificial Intelligence solutions and Enterprise Development.
Ass. Prof Dr Omonigho Otanocha is an academic staff of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), and heads FUPRE Consult Ltd, Office of the Vice Chancellor - FUPRE (having served as Ag. Head of Mechanical Engineering Department between 2016 and 2018).
He represents FUPRE in various strategic and collaborative ventures; "re-manufacturing of new components from the end of life parts using hybrid selective laser melting/high-speed machining process" in conjunction with Stellenbosch University (SU), South Africa and Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), Botswana, with a research grant (2018) awarded by Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research, South Africa"; Project Grant holder on "Bio-gas for Energy and Off-Grid Power", implemented through a ‘hub and spoke’ model, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering UK in conjunction with Anglo American Group Foundation and Global Challenge Research Fund.
He is passionate about research innovation in collaboration with industry, youth empowerment through education and competency training, and sustainable enterprise development.
Associate Prof Dr. Otanocha is the substantive MD/CEO of FUPRE Energy Solutions (Nig) Limited and he is a member of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE), and serves as Ag. Chairman, FUPRE Governing Council Committee on Public-Private Partnerships.
He has fellowship Membership of several Professional Bodies and Affiliations.
