Professor Emmanuel Igah’s professional experience spans across a wide range of industrial activities and engagements, as well as teaching and research over the past three decades. He is currently a Professor in IPAG Business School, Paris, France, and the International School of Management (ISM) - Paris/NewYork, handling various courses, including Geopolitics, Public-- Private Partnership, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Sustainable development.
He is also supervising several doctoral research projects, including PhD thesis projects on topics concerning a number of African countries. He holds, among others, a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Economic Geography and Development Planning from the University of Paris IV Sorbonne, as well as an International Master of Business Administration degree (IMBA) from the International School of Management - ISM, Paris/New York, both obtained after initial studies in Architecture and Project Management in Paris, France (MSc). He was the Editor of the “Atlas of Nigeria” published for the Federal Government of Nigeria (English & French Editions).
He is also the Publisher of the periodical compendium, “Nigeria Handbook – Knowing Nigeria”, which showcases Nigeria to investors, business leaders, academia and administrators. Prof. Igah led, in 2017, the team of United Nations international experts that monitored the national population census in Pakistan’s southern province of Sindh. Prior to that, in 2008, E. Igah led the United Nations team of international experts in southern Sudan’s Bahr el Ghazal Province, in the preparatory phase of the national population census that preceded the referendum leading to the independence and birth of the Republic of South Sudan.
He was also a lead expert in the European Union Observer team that monitored Nigeria’s 2006 census in the Northwest Geopolitical Zone. He played a key role as Senior Manager in Escravos Gas-To-Liquids Project – EGTL, a 9 billion dollar natural gas transformation mega-plant in Delta State in Southern Nigeria (completed and delivered in 2014), for which the local contractors involved bestowed on him the “Bridge Builder Award”, in recognition of his achievements in the empowerment of the local communities. Prof. Emmanuel Igah hails from Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria.
Having undertaken all his tertiary education in French universities, he is fully bilingual and proficient in English and French languages, in which he has produced a significant number of publications and serves as a consultant analyst to several international media (France 24TV, Africa 24TV, Radio France International, etc). He has always seized these opportunities to articulate the African perspectives.
Dr E. Igah was conferred in 2001 with the French National Order of Merit Award for his outstanding professional achievements.
