Mr. Ikechukwu Theophilus Okafor holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy (Urban University Rome). He is also a graduate of the Immaculate conception seminary Umuahia. Though, he continued his philosophy studies at Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck, he later changed to the study of business informatics at Johannes Kepler University, Linz.
In 2002 he was elected member of the Linz Integration Advisory Board.
He was the anchor moderator of the radio program "Voice of Africa" at the local radio station Radio FRO, with focus on the correct representation of the history and view of the Africans in Upper Austria. Several of his contributions are still available on the Internet portal.
In 2004 he was elected chairman of "The Greens Intercultural", a sub-organization of the Greens political party of Upper Austria, and he is still an important part of the organization.
He was a facilitator of the association “Black Community Upper Austria”, in which he still plays an important role.
In 2009 he contested for the state parliament.
In 2015 he became the first dark-skinned person to be elected into the Asten town municipal council and was re-elected in 2021. He is the chairman of the audit committee.
With passion, he also works as a street worker in the district of Linz-Land in the municipalities (Leonding, Wilhering, Kirchberg-Thening, Oftering, Hörsching and Pasching).
He has been active as a lecturer at the Security Academy of the State of Upper Austria (SIAK), focusing on human rights and on how to deal with marginalized groups.
He has been active as a trainer in various adult education programs of the BFI &BBRZ Upper Austria.
He is a community leader and active in several Ethnic groups.
